Our Story
Jim's Appliances of Inman was opened in 1980 by Jim Miller. He started the business after the local International Harvester dealer closed, which he had worked for. They used to be the appliance dealer, and Jim wanted to continue the appliance portion of the business. The company started with only a few appliances in stock, and Jim would sell appliances during the day and service them at night. As business grew, his mother helped him answer the telephone and worked in the store. In January 2005, the store was purchased by Darin Pote. Over the last 30 years, Jim's Appliances of Inman has continued to grow and has been the area's largest independent dealer for many years. They now have over 800 appliances in stock and have added several product categories including televisions, wood pellet smoker/grills, and vacuums.
In December of 2007, Darin and his wife Kim purchased another appliance store in Manhattan, Kansas called Manhattan Appliance & Sleep Source Inc. With the two stores together and membership in a national buying group called BrandSource, they have the buying power to get the very best pricing available from the manufacturers so we can compete with the box stores, but can offer so much more. Jim's Appliances of Inman has a "low price guarantee", great selection, knowledge of the products that are sold, and an in-home service/repair department. They also have free delivery and financing available on all appliances.
